Women Empowerment Initiatives

The Women Empowerment and Livelihood Programme (WELP) is designed to address economic disparities by equipping women with the skills and resources necessary to achieve financial independence. This initiative supports women in various socio-economic backgrounds, focusing on those who face significant barriers to economic participation. SEVA is working very closely with various women groups in the community for their economic empowerment and rehabilitation.

Ananda Kendra Sakti SadanAnanda Kendra the centre of joy was established in 1993 and started functioning since 1997. Social orphan,battered women, child labours and senior citizen has been the main beneficiaries of the project. At present SHAKTI SADAN-a project of Women and Child Development Government of India and Directorate of Social Welfare, Government of West Bengal is functioning for shelter and rehabilitation of destitute women along with their children. The home provides facilities towards entertainment, like cultural program, film show, picnic, exposure visit etc.  Time to time the beneficiaries participated different programs in the project area. 

Recently SEVA has opened a food stall under the name of Atghara Opportunity Cafe at Atghara, Baduria which is run by a group of women who are victims of abuse and exploitation.
