Environmental Sustainability

SEVA has launched several initiatives to promote environmental sustainability while empowering women through waste management programs, SEVA educates communities on effective waste segregation and recycling, helping to reduce environmental pollution. The organization advocates for eco-friendly practices, encouraging the use of sustainable materials like cloth bags and supporting organic farming methods that protect soil health.

In addition, SEVA has been active in tree planting campaigns to enhance green cover and combat deforestation. The organization has also introduced clean energy solutions, such as solar power, to rural communities. SEVA further raises awareness about climate change and environmental conservation, fostering a culture of sustainability among women and their communities, empowering them to take the lead in creating environmentally conscious, sustainable practices. To percolate the awareness and action among the next generation, important days for conservation of environment are observed with children and adolescents.

One significant program of SEVAâ's Birbhum wing Manab Jamin is Meen Mangal Utsav, started with inspiration from freedom  fighter Sri Pannalal Das Gupta. It's a program where people from local communities including the children mingle to release fingerlings in the river Ajay as a token of giving back to nature.
